The sunshine is starting to make an appearance at last, and if you’re like me, you’ll be thinking about your spring and summer wardrobe already. I’m counting down the months, weeks and days until I’ll be heading on my holidays overseas, and I want to make sure that what I buy now can be used then too. I have a weakness for summer dresses in particular, and I’m also partial to a bit of bikini shopping here and there. But I’m narrowing my search to dresses for the time being, so I thought I’d share with you what I’m looking for…

Pinafore
The first dress I am looking for is a pinafore – I haven’t wore one of these since I was in reception but they are coming back into fashion now. I won’t be buying one in a school grey colour though, I’d like one in coral as I think this would look really cute with a frilly white shirt, or even a crop top. A pinafore would be good for the beach too as it shows off a bit of bikini body whilst still giving enough coverage to walk around the shops at lunchtime.

Skater dress
Another type of dress I’d like to find is a plain t-shirt skater dress which can be worn casually or jazzed up with a few accessories and heels. Normally I’d choose one in black but with the summer sun it can get a bit hot, so I think I’ll look for one in either light pink or white. I can picture going from flip flops in the daytime to funky wedges in the evening!

Maxi
I couldn’t go on a beach holiday without a couple of gorgeous maxi summer dresses as they are so versatile. I love items that can easily go from daywear to evening wear, and maxi dresses fit this perfectly. I think lots of girls must share this opinion as I often see people wearing them on the plane before they even land in their destination! With my maxi dress I like to wear chunky jewellery and embellished flats.

Bodycon
Completely different to the maxi dress is the bodycon dress, and I really want one of these in black! I plan on wearing this at night time when the sun has gone down, so I don’t need to worry too much about overheating. A bodycon dress is a great pick for going clubbing and if necessary you can wear it a couple of times with different accessories so it gives a totally unique effect.

Tea dress
Another day dress I love though is the classic tea dress. They are always really cute and girly, and I love the patterns you can find on some of these. Personally, I’ll be looking for a chiffon polka-dot tea dress, probably in cream and black. This would work well for summer parties with Pimms as well as evening meals out when I’m on holiday.

I’m not, hahaha!

I’m a boring person especially with clothes. How I wish I can be that brave to wear clothes and explore a lot of trendy clothes such as maxi skirts, skinny jeans and loose blouses. How I wish.

I’m one very boring person when it comes to dressing up. My usual wear would be a square cut jeans and a boring long sleeve. I wanted to go along the fashion but my confidence beats me to death. I wanted to try and explore the modest way possible but still in jive with the fashion, but my height and weight forbids me to. Blogging it easy, but action speaks louder than words as they say.

Let’s see if I can try one of the tips below:

Tie on a belted jacket.

While Fergie’s futuristic shades and wedges might be too wild to wear at the office, her belted jacket and trim bag make dark skinny jeans look super polished.

Upgrade your sweater.

Here’s one supermodel style trick everyone can try on for size: On your next errand-running afternoon, instead of wearing a basic cardi, slip on a more sculptural knit top, à la Cindy Crawford’s balloon-sleeve sweater.

Add some bright accessories.

Suddenly feeling underdressed for your last-minute dinner plans? Distract people from realizing you’re wearing your favorite 501s by piling on a few look-at-me-accessories.

Try a girly blouse.

Basketball all-star Lisa Leslie created a date-worthy look by layering a pink ruffled dress over her gray jeans. The dress-as-a-shirt trick works especially well when you’re 6’5”, but for the rest of us who couldn’t graze the net without the help of a springboard, an old-fashioned ruffle-y top would work just as well.

Go black on black.

Bilson always knows best: A long coatlike cardigan and black booties make for a cool city outfit that’ll work year-round.

Just add heels.

Kelly Osbourne and Kim Kardashian clearly got the same memo: All you need to make your black jeans look glam is a pair of major heels and a short ‘n’ sweet black jacket.

We know you’ve heard this from us before, but seriously, the blazer is a good thing. It’s like the white T-shirt of outerwear: You can’t go wrong with it, especially when worn with jeans, just as she-who-never-ages Robin Wright Penn demonstrates.

I recently bought a blue maxi skirt and now I don’t know what to pair with it. Pinterest to the rescue. Here are my choices.

Mine has a belt similar to the top left. But I want the ides on what to wear on top. Are my choices awesome?

Well, let’s talk about color blocking once again. This girl was able to pull off a black sweater + cuff + striped tee + coral red pants + leopard shoes.

I have a colored jeans like that. Now where shall I get that stripe top? Hmmm… Sometimes I’m really afraid to explore clothing lines with bright colors. But I guess, we just all need blend in.
